Vormetric Supports Leading Travel Data Company’s PCI DSS Requirements; Delivers Easy-to-Use, High-Performance Data Encryption and Centralized Key Management for Oracle, SQL Server and DB2
TRX provides data and technology services to the travel industry and regularly handles the credit card and other personally identifiable information of its clients. Using Vormetric Data Security Expert, TRX is able to easily enforce policies that prevent unauthorized access to this sensitive data across its heterogeneous database infrastructure, which includes IBM DB2, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. By seamlessly integrating with these systems and offering centralized management capabilities, Vormetric Data Security Expert allows TRX to meet PCI DSS standards, secure customer information, and satisfy stringent partner service level agreements with ease.
“As a leader in travel data, ensuring the highest level of data security is essential to our business. We touch millions of sensitive data records everyday,” said Chris Maurer, TRX Director of Security and Controls. “With Vormetric Data Security as our standard for database encryption, we found the strategic solution to key management, integration and performance-related database encryption challenges. The Vormetric solution meets customer data security, PCI DSS and service level needs.”
TRX first implemented Vormetric Data Security in 2007, selecting it over competing solutions after proving to be the simplest and most effective way for managing encryption across its varied database environment. After the success of the initial Vormetric deployment for Oracle and SQL Server, TRX expanded its installation to include IBM DB2, completing its use of Vormetric Data Security across all its database platforms. Vormetric’s centralized key management capabilities provide a “hands off” key management process for TRX, requiring almost no maintenance or resources.
“Encryption is being adopted at a rapid rate. Manageable data security necessitates the definition of enterprise standards and strategies for strong policy and key management,” said Richard Gorman, President and CEO, Vormetric. “Our work with TRX further evidences that Vormetric is the effective standard for data security across the distributed enterprise. Vormetric is seeing record-breaking market traction by offering the enterprise an innovative and cost-effective means to overcome the encryption obstacle.”
Vormetric’s more than 150 customers represent the world’s most trusted brands in financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, media, energy and telecom industries as well as highly security conscious government agencies.
