Business class: Delivered safely to difficult destinations

TRX, the global technology company, has contracts with suppliers in its main countries of operation that are negotiated annually by in-house travel agents.

 

Susan Hopley, executive vice-president responsible for emerging markets, says drivers are all certified security-trained.

 

“In India, although the company outsources the work, the drivers are effectively ours. If we need chauffeur-driven cars in countries where we do not have contracts, we might use a hotel car.

 

“Only a few people in the company are authorised to use chauffeur-driven limousines. We have an executive travel manager and only she is authorised to book them.

 

“Staff need pre-trip approval, though some people have standing arrangements.” But employees may get special allowances if they are going to a place where it is the only safe or practical method of travel.
